Elizabeth United Methodist Church is thrilled to share good news with our friends and colleagues in the Rocky Mountain Conference. After being nomads for four years (in nine locations), and settled in rented storefront quarters for five years, the members of Elizabeth UMC have moved into our first church building. What once was a very popular Mexican restaurant is now a place of prayer, worship, study, and outreach. Of course, there are still people who show up on Sunday morning looking for breakfast burritos.
It has been both a labor of love and a difficult delivery as we worked to refurbish the building and bring it to new life. We’ve had amazing gifts of materials, supplies, and talent along the way. Now the waiting is finally over. We celebrated our first worship service in our new church on Feb. 4. Our official “grand opening” worship celebration is Feb. 18 starting at 9 a.m. You are all invited – though frankly, if you all came we’d have to set up a lot of chairs in the parking lot! We do hope you will join us by prayer – it’s the best gift you can give us.
