It’s time to start registering for Youth Quest, the annual junior high youth event sponsored by Young People’s Ministries and the Conference Council on Youth Ministries of the Rocky Mountain Conference. The event will take place April 28-30 at Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, Colorado and it will provide space for 6th
grade youth across the RMC to engage in fellowship and faith formation. Regular registration fees are $155 per youth, and the price goes up on $175 per youth for anyone registering after April 23.
Throughout the weekend, youth will participate in workshops, conversations, and keynote sessions that focus on our conference-wide theme “Living Into Beloved Community” with a specific focus on how we can provide access to healthy food and clean water for our neighbors in need. They will look at Mathew 25 and dig into what it means to provide food for the hungry and water for the thirsty, and they will look into how their everyday actions can share the love of Christ with something as simple as water.
The keynote speaker for the weekend will be Chris Wilterdink, a former youth director from St. Luke’s UMC in Highlands Ranch, CO who is currently serving with Discipleship Ministries of the UMC in Nashville, Tennessee. Chris is the Director of Program Development for the USA, meaning he manages US-based staff for Young People’s Ministries, creates resources, and develops events for leaders. He also works to identify needs in young people's ministries for the denomination and seek to meet those needs.
