This training is offered to those who want to be part of an UMCOR/UMVIM Early Response Team (ERT). ERT's are invited to go to communities that have experienced disasters. Their primary role is to serve as a caring presence to disaster survivors. They also perform tasks requested by the affected community, matching the team's skills and abilities. These tasks include helping to clean out flooded homes and putting tarps on roofs. Emphasis in the training is how to do no harm to disaster survivors and volunteers. ERT teams are deployed short term - for three days and are self-sufficient so that they do not put a burden on the community.
If you would like to be part of this important ministry, you are invited to sign up for the training by contacting Jennifer Kloeppel, JKloeppel@gostandrew.com
Class size is limited to 30 people.
