Having a hard time reaching families and children in your area? Why not get messy?
Messy Church is a new way of being "church" for families, especially for those who find it hard to come on Sunday mornings. Founded in England in 2004, Messy Church is a highly vital and popular ministry in Britain. It introduces families to faith through a night of relaxed, hands-on creative experiences, a celebration and a meal. The Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church has heartily embraced this model, planting several messy churches along the west coast.
The driving force behind this effort is Rev. Nicole Reilley, Congregational Developer of the California-Pacific Conference. She will be leading a FREE workshop on the nuts and bolts of this ministry from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at Rinn United Methodist Church. It will be a great way to be introduced to a vibrant new approach to connect families to Christ.
