2017 Spring Lay Servant Classes
April 1, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. & April 2, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
“Basic Course” – Led by Judy Stout
The basic course guides you to discover & employ your gifts as God intended and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship.
“Discover Your Spiritual Gifts”– Led by LaVeta Lowery
This course helps participants understand spiritual gifts and how the church can use them to fulfill its mission and ministry. Participants will also learn what it means to be a spiritual leader and will be equipped to lead others in exploring and using their spiritual gifts.
“Come to the Table”– Led by Yvonne Clary
Deepen your experience of Holy Communion through this wide ranging study of The Holy Mystery, Scripture, Church History, United Methodist theology and practice of the sacrament. This course will prepare the Lay Servant to assist the pastor on Communion Sunday and take communion from that table to the homebound.
