A "Basic Course: Lay Servant Ministries" class is scheduled from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21 and Jan. 28 at Berkeley United Methodist Church, 5200 W. 43rd Ave., Denver, Colorado. The class will be led by Curtis Gay.

If you are part of a lay-led congregation or in the Certified Lay Minister process, your cost will be paid by the conference. The cost for others will be $20, paid at the class. Checks can be made out to "RMC". This includes the cost of class materials (and Friday lunch in Eureka). There is some reading and preparation required.
This course touches on such topics as servant and spiritual leadership, caring ministries, basic communication skills, basic United Methodist groundings, sharing your faith and leading meetings. This is not a course designed only for those who might be preaching.
