It’s time again to start getting ready for YLC 2017, the annual youth leadership conference sponsored by Rocky Mountain Conference Young People’s Ministries and the RMC Conference Council on Youth Ministry! The event will take place at FUMC Cheyenne from January 27-29, and we will be joined by Jeremy Scott as the keynote speaker. Jeremy, alongside a core team of youth, will be leading keynote sessions and workshops geared at building up practical leadership skills that can be used when our young people return back home to their local communities.
In addition to the keynote sessions and workshops, this will also be the primary legislative session for Young People’s Ministries where at-large CCYM members, district, representatives, and the CCYM president will be elected. It will also be a time for the youth of the RMC to discuss resolutions to be presented at Annual Conference in June.
In past years CCYM has chosen to limit the number of youth who are allowed to attend in order to ensure that the voting process is fair for all of our youth groups regardless of their size. In an effort to be more inclusive, we are inviting youth groups to bring as many young people as they would like, but we are asking each youth group to select 2 middle school and 3 high school students to serve as voting delegates. The non-voting youth will be given the option to either observe the legislative session during the legislative session or
to participate in additional workshops and breakout groups.
Registration will cost $50 before 1/16 and $65 afterward, and each registration has the cost of a t-shirt built in. Visit www.rmcumc.org/youth
