Rev. Tom Barlow

Designed for those who are preparing to serve as Licensed Local Pastors, the Local Pastor Licensing School offers an 80-hour, intensive introduction to the role and tasks of United Methodist Clergy. This is one of the requirements for licensure as a local pastor, and is often required for anyone who will serve as lead pastor of a church (contact your District Superintendent for more information).

The curriculum covers essentials in these areas:

  • United Methodist history, doctrine, and theology
  • worship
  • preaching
  • leadership and administration
  • spiritual formation
  • christian education
  • congregational care
  • mission, evangelism, and church vitality
This is a Rocky Mountain Annual Conference event, hosted at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado.
