Religion and Race: Japanese Internment Camps 75 Years Later

Register via the Annual Conference registration website - $31

When President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 on February 19, 1942, following the bombing of Pearl Harbor by Japan, approximately 120,000 Japanese-Americans and people of Japanese ancestry were taken to ten internment camps in remote areas of seven western states.

Sadly, many Americans do not know this tragic aspect of modern US history. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the internment, which presents us with an opportunity to learn more about it. Gil Asakawa, who is a Japanese-American, a blogger, journalist and author, will be our guest speaker.
