Anniversaries

Annually, the Rocky Mountain Conference Historical Society/Commission on Archives and History honors those persons who are observing the 50-, 40-, 25- and 20-year anniversaries of their ordination as Elder/Deacon/Consecration and Admitted Into Full Conference Membership at the Clergy Session of the Annual Conference.  To obtain as complete a listing as possible, if you are celebrating one of these anniversaries this year, please contact Dick Vickery at ravickeryjr@cs.com so your name can be added to the official list an invitation can be sent.

Awards

There are a number of awards that will be acknowledged during the 2016 Annual Conference Session. Information about nominations and award recipients will be updated here as decisions are made.

Volunteers

Tellers are needed for the 2016 Annual Conference Session at the Westin Hotel. If interested, please contact Rev. Lester Huseby at lhuseby@hotmail.com or call 719-425-7407.

Worship

Worship at the 2016 Annual Conference Session will be planned and led by Rev. Eric Strader and his worship team. Clergy are invited to wear robes of any color and red Pentecost stoles for the ordination service on Sunday, June 12. The service begins at 8:30 a.m. and clergy are asked to be robed and ready at 8:15 a.m. in the conference hallway outside the ballroom.  

Conference Choir

If you would like to lend your voice to our clergy choir, please email Stacy Collins at scollins@gostandrew.com. This choir will sing for the Sunday ordination service on June 12. We will have one to two short rehearsals during the conference. You will receive the music ahead of time. Let’s join our voices together to support and bless our ordinands.

Special Offerings

Throughout the Rocky Mountain Annual Conference Session, there will be multiple opportunities to give in support of ministries within and outside of the Rocky Mountain Conference. For information on when these offering will take place and who will be benefiting from them, please click here!

UMCOR Relief-Supply Kits

As has been the case for the past three years, there will be a truck at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Annual Conference designated site to receive relief supply material for the United Methodist Committee on Relief Office and Depot (UMCOR West) located in Salt Lake City, Utah.  All UMCOR relief supply kit materials brought to the annual conference session will be loaded on the truck at the lunch break Friday, June 10. Blueprint for Wellness  Screening

HealthFlex participants are eligible to complete their Blueprint for Wellness screening at the Annual Conference Session. This screening is offered on June 10 and 11 from 5:30 to 9 a.m. each day.  Blueprint for Wellness is a comprehensive “biometric” screening that provides information about your heart, liver, kidney function, cholesterol, blood sugar control, thyroid function, iron and more! Clergy Absences

All clergy members of the Rocky Mountain Conference are expected to be in attendance at the Annual Conference Session unless your absence has been formally excused. If you are a clergy memeber of the RMC and you will not be able to attend, please send your request to be excused by letter or email to the conference secretary, Rev. Elizabeth McVicker, at revelizabeth@fumccheyenne.org and forward a copy to Bishop Elaine Stanovsky at bishop@mountainskyumc.org.

General Conference 2016

The United Methodist Church's top legislative body will meet at the Oregon Convention Center, the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest, from May 10-20, 2016. General Conference is the top policy-making body of The United Methodist Church made up of delegates from around the globe, and they meet every four years.
