On Nov. 6 and 7, 752 volunteers from Parker and various other surrounding communities worked to feed 363 starving children for a year in the developing world. Through a partnership between Parker United Methodist Church, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), and Cardel Homes, volunteers packed dehydrated vitamins, veggies, soy, rice, and immeasurable love to create 132,642 life-saving MannaPackTM meals at the two-day MobilePackTM event. The funds to pay for the cost of the MannaPackTMingredients came from many private and corporate donors. Special thanks goes out to Cardel Homes for supporting the event and Welch Equipment Company for donating a fork-lift to move more than 10 tons of ingredients.

About Feed My Starving Children

A Christian nonprofit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to more than 70 countries, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. Last year, FMSC welcomed nearly 900,000 volunteers to pack more than 229.2 million meals. The Minnesota-based charity spends 92 percent of total donations directly on feeding the hungry and has earned the highest four-star rating from Charity Navigator for nine consecutive years.

About FMSC MobilePack

MobilePack events enable children and adults across the United States to pack FMSC’s life-giving MannaPackTM meals. Churches, businesses, community groups and schools in more than 30 states have hosted these food-packing events as a way to encourage Missions involvement and foster teamwork, while making a real impact on the problem of 6,200 children dying from hunger and hunger related diseases every day. The next Colorado opportunity will be in Fort Collins from Feb. 26 to 28, in which the goal is to pack 272,160 meals.
