Crossroads Urban Center will be collecting new socks and underwear at the 2015 Annual Conference to be given away to families in need in Salt Lake City. Crossroads Urban Center, the only National Mission Institution in the Rocky Mountain Conference, will share a table with the United Methodist Women in the display area where items can be dropped off.
Crossroads operates one of Utah's busiest emergency food pantries, a free/low-cost thrift store, an emergency assistance fund to help with prescriptions, bus passes, gasoline and other needs, extensive holiday food programs, and community organizing and advocacy with low income people and their allies. In 2014, Crossroads' direct service programs touched some 36,300 families and individuals in need. Hundreds of volunteers help serve thousands of people in need through Crossroads every year.
Since 1966, Crossroads has been serving low-income people in the greater Salt Lake area. The agency emerged from the work of the Women’s Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the 19th century.
Please bring some socks and underwear with you to the 2015 Annual Conference session and let Crossroads take it from there!
