When asked about his theological and academic interests, he stated, “I am inspired by the history of preaching and its intersection with both pastoral formation and congregational life. As a pastor of Brooklyn’s Concord Baptist Church of Christ for over 20 years, my intellectual interests include preaching as public theology, pastoral exegesis, and the African-American preaching and worship tradition.”
