Bishop Elaine Stanovsky has announced her intention to make the following appointments, effective July 1, 2014:

Margaret Gillikin, currently serving First United Methodist Church, Salida, Colorado, to District Superintendent, Sunshine District and Plains Sub-District of the Peaks and Plains District

Kirsten Barlow, currently serving First United Methodist Church, Fort Lupton, Colorado, to First United Methodist Church, Pueblo, Colorado

David Charles Barton, currently serving Haxtun United Methodist Church, Haxtun, Colorado, to Meeker United Methodist Church, Meeker, Colorado.

Jon Laughlin, current interim pastor of Meeker United Methodist Church, will complete his service June 30, 2014.

Elizabeth Jackson, currently serving Edgewater United Methodist Church, to Smoky Hill United Methodist Church, Centennial, Colorado (as half-time Associate Pastor).

Jeremiah Harris to First United Methodist Church, Loveland CO (as Associate Pastor).

Mark Feldmeir, currently serving San Dieguito United Methodist Church, Encinitas, California, California-Pacific Conference, as Senior Pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Highlands Ranch, CO. This will be a cross conference appointment.

Sarah Beck, currently pastor of Hamilton United Methodist – American Baptist Federated Church of Hamilton, Montana (Yellowstone Annual Conference), as pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Billings, Montana (Yellowstone Annual Conference). Rev. Beck is a member of the Rocky Mountain Conference.

Jeremy Scott, currently pastor of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Billings Montana (Yellowstone Annual Conference), as the new Mountain Sky Area Vital Congregations Developer. Rev. Scott is a member of the Yellowstone Annual Conference.

Brian Oliver, currently associate pastor of First UMC of Casper, WY, as senior pastor of First UMC of Casper, WY. Rev. Steve Burnett, current senior pastor, has requested retirement effective June 30, 2014.

Benning L. Wentworth as the launch pastor of the ICON new church start located in the Tri-towns/Erie area of Colorado in the Peaks and Plains District. Ben currently serves as pastor of Hugo and Blue Cliff United Methodist Churches, Hugo CO and Karval CO.

District Superintendent Debra Olenyik to the state of Wyoming for another year. Under Deb Olenyik's leadership the Yellowstone Annual Conference and the Rocky Mountain Conference have experimented for two and a half years with sharing one district superintendent for all of the Wyoming United Methodist churches.

 

Bishop Elaine Stanovsky has announced her intention to make the following appointments, effective June 1, 2014:

Vickie Street, a local pastor, as pastor of Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church, Cedaredge, Colorado (1/2 time).

Debra Edwards, pastor of Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church, has requested a Medical Leave.

 

 

Retirement Announcements

December 9, 2013

Bishop Elaine Stanovsky has announced her intention to appoint The Rev. Dr. Philip Amerson as Interim Pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, effective February 1, 2014. Dr. Amerson will retire December 31, 2013 as president of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Prior to that appointment he served as President of Claremont School of Theology and as pastor for 21 years in the South Indiana Conference. Current St. Andrew Senior Pastor, Rev. Gary Shockley, will be appointed as Congregational Development Team Leader for the Western North Carolina Conference, effective January 1, 2014.

Bishop Elaine Stanovsky announces that Rev. Gary Shockley, Senior Pastor at St. Andrew UMC in Highlands Ranch, CO, will conclude his appointment there effective December 31, 2013.

October 28, 2013

District Superintendent Walter “Skip” Strickland has announced his intention to assign Janeen R. Hill to supply Keenesburg United Methodist Church (1/2 time), Keenesburg, Colorado, effective November 1, 2013. Michael Bergman, retired pastor of the Rocky Mountain Conference served as an intentional interim at Keenesburg UMC, September 1-October 31, 2013.

District Superintendent Deb Olenyik has announced her intention to assign Thomas Thompson, retired elder of the New England Conference, as the transitional intentional interim for First United Methodist Church of Rawlins, Wyoming (3/4 time) effective December 1, 2013.

District Superintendent Walter “Skip” Strickland has announced his intention to assign Katherine A. Bullard, a retired pastor from the Nebraska Conference, to supply Alger Memorial United Methodist Church, Eaton, Colorado, effective October 1, 2013. Jeanne Redshaw entered into retired relationship with the Rocky Mountain Conference, June 31, 2013.

Bishop Elaine J. W. Stanovsky has announced her intention to appoint Phillip Tarman, retired pastor in the Rocky Mountain Conference, as an interim at First United Methodist Church, Rocky Ford, Colorado, effective November 1, 2013. Rev. Leslie Barnett, pastor of First UMC, Rocky Ford, Colorado, has requested retirement effective October 31, 2013.

Bishop Elaine J. W. Stanovsky has announced her intention to appoint Michael Harmon Bergman, retired pastor in the Rocky Mountain Conference, as an interim at Community United Methodist Church, Keenesburg, Colorado, (1/2 time) Sept 1, 2013 through Oct 31, 2013. Rev. Dawnmarie Fiechtner, pastor of Keenesburg UMC, was appointed to Hygiene UMC effective July 1, 2013.
