Rev. Dr. Karen A. McClintock is a psychologist, author and congregational consultant. She is a clergy member of the California/Nevada Annual Conference where she served as parish pastor for nearly two decades. Her new book, Healthy Disclosure in Congregations (Alban 2008) explores professional ethics, sexual boundaries, secrets in congregations, and sexual abuse prevention. She has presented abuse prevention and leadership workshops nationally for the past five years. She has also authored; Preventing Sexual Abuse in Congregations (Alban) and Sexual Shame: An Urgent Call to Healing (Fortress Press). She teaches part-time at the Northwest House of Theological Studies, Pacific School of Religion, and Southern Oregon University. She engages in conversations about sexuality that are life affirming, while creating safety and healing. More information is available at www.healthycongregation.com.

Ethical Education Task Force presents Dr. Karen McClintock to provide training as required by the Annual Conference. The books listed in the biography material above may be purchased at Cokesbury or the publishers listed above. The Task Force recommends the reading of Preventing Sexual Abuse in Congregations prior to June 18, 2008.

Attendance will be taken at the Session on June 18th, as the session will fulfill the requirement of persons in ministry as per Petition AC 11, 2006 to attend once each four years.

Prior registration is required. A fee of twelve dollars per person is required to pay the cost of materials provided to each attendee. You may register on-line here. Space is limited, early registration is suggested.
