Projects
Angel Tree
It's not too early to think about Christmas. We need to spread our
angelic wings and re-activate our prison- fellowship ministry to
children. Your help is needed to create Christmas joy for children who
have an especially difficult time because their mom or dad is in
prison. Project Angel Tree
gives children of prisoners an opportunity to know just some of the
ways Jesus reaches out to them through our gifts, and through our
ongoing contact and ministry with these families.
Ask your church to start an Angel Tree Ministry, or ask
your church's current Angel Tree volunteer leader what you may do to
help.
Angel Tree may become a year-round ministry. You are
encouraged to stay in touch with these families to provide ongoing
community and support. With your help and encouragement these children
may also attend Camp Joy in the summer. Camp Joy is sponsored by the Church and Society Network: Advocating for Peace with Justice.
Please join us and earn your wings! "Remember those who
are in prison as if you were in prison with them; those who suffering,
as though you were suffering as they are." Hebrews 13:3
For information about the mission of Angel Tree you may
contact a member of the Church and Society Network: Advocating for
Peace with Justice committee. Or, telephone 1-800-55-Angel for the
nearest Angel in your community.
Peace Poles
Your participation is needed to help sponsor PEACE! A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted monument that displays the message and prayer
"May Peace Prevail on Earth"
on each of its four sides, usually in eight different
languages. A Peace Pole acts as a silent prayer and message for Peace
on Earth. To learn more about peace poles contact your local Peace with Justice representative, or visit this web site: http://www.worldpeace.org/peacepoles.html
