2007 Annual Conference Golf Tournament

Benefit for Clergy Covenant Fund Raises $3,453.74

Forty golfers gathered at Wellshire Golf Course on Wed, June 13th, the first day of 2007 Annual Conference, to play golf, celebrate their friendships, and donate to the Clergy Covenant Fund. Along with the registrations fees, funds were raised by special sponsored holes by The Center for Pastoral Effectiveness, Iliff School of Theology, and Arvada, Applewood Valley, and Durango Churches plus purchase of extra drives and a "cubit" of putting string plus a silent auction. We thank Carl Fitch and Statera Corporation, Linda Schafer and GL Specialties, and Deb Hottinger and Heritage Square Alpine Action for donations to the Silent Auction.

Total Profit after expenses for the Clergy Covenant Fund was $3,453.74 Along with that, we would like to report sadly that 13 Balls were recorded "lost" and are wandering in the wilderness, but we are excited to say that eight Balls Were Baptized, and 12 balls were found and brought in by Profession of Faith. We record therefore a "growth" in our golf church membership.

The winning team was from Wheatridge of TL Phillips, Ranae Basford Phillips, Barry Marler, and Roberto Valenzuela and each got a $50 gift certificates. The "Last shall be First Team" receiving $55 gift certificates was the team of Justine Haugen, Lonnie Haugen, Kerry McCormick and Michael McCormick. Longest Drives by men was Barry Marler, by the women Caroline Waters, longest putt Olon Lindemood.

Plans are underway for next years golf tourney. Many people dropped by booth of The Center for Pastoral Effectiveness to say that "if they had only known" they would have played and they will be playing next year. So let's get 80 golfers out and experience even more growth.

We are all winners from this experience! Thanks to all for your support of this fun and great event!
