Nomination for Episcopal Election at Jurisdictional
Conference
The Conference nominated Chuck Schuster for the Episcopacy elections
at the Western Jurisdiction Conference in July 14-18 in San Jose.
Here is a statement he made prior to his selection:
Janet Forbes and Youngsook Kang were supported for nomination prior
to the Annual Conference, but Janet withdrew her name from consideration,
citing the needs of her new appointment. Here is Youngsook Kang's
statement:
During the first day of Annual Conference, Randy Jessen's name was
put forward by petition and was included in the voting. This
Western Jurisdiction site has the statements from the various
nominees for the episcopacy elections which will took place during
the Western Jurisdiction Conference July 14-17 in San Jose.
Bishop of East Angola Conference Guest of
Rocky Mountain Conference
Bishop Jose Quipungo and his wife, Dr. Laurinda Vidal Quipungo,
were special guests at the Rocky Mountain Annual Conference session
held June 16-19. The Quipungos came to help celebrate the covenant
relationship and promote the "Bridge of Love" program between
the United Methodist Church in Angola and the Rocky Mountain Conference.
There are several opportunities to meet the Quipungos prior to Annual Conference.
Informal meetings and conversations have been held in the Denver area and Fort
Collins. On Sunday, June 20, 2004 they will be special guests of the United
Methodist Churches in Sterling.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet and get acquainted with the
leadership of the Angola East Conference. If you have questions about the visit
