Who Should Attend?
- Certified Candidates seeking to become eligible for appointment as local
pastors in the United Methodist Church.
- Applications will also be accepted from individuals who have not achieved
certified candidacy status. All applicants must have acquired at least “Exploring
Candidacy” status.
- Certified Lay Ministries seeking continuing education.
- Graduates are not guaranteed appointments, nor are they required to seek
appointment.

- Preaching & Worship taught

Rev. Nancy Mead and Rev. Trevor Potter
- Pastoral Ministry taught
by Rev. Linda Marshall
- Christian Education taught
by Ms. Christy Boyle
- Organizing a Parish for Nurture & Mission taught
by Rev. David Burt

Faculty
- Christy Boyle is Director
of Children’s Ministry at St. Andrew UMC in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
She is trained in early childhood education, and has taught elementary school
as well.
- David Burt has served churches
in the Yellowstone Conference since 1985. David began his ministry as a licensed
local pastor, was ordained an elder in 2001, and currently serves as District
Superintendent of the Big Horn District in the Yellowstone Conference.
- Brenda Lear is Registrar
and Dean of the Licensing School and is currently serving as District Superintendent
of the Sunshine District of the Rocky Mountain Conference.
- Linda Marshall is Minister
of Congregational Care at Trinity UMC in Denver, Colorado. She formerly served
churches in the Yellowstone Conference.
- Nancy Mead has served churches
in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana for more than 20 years. She is currently
pastor of Phillips UMC in Lakewood, Colorado.
- Stephanie Muñoz has
served churches in the Rocky Mountain Conference since 2001 and is currently
pastor of Berthoud UMC.
- Trevor Potter is the pastor
of Wiley and McClave UMCs on the plains of Colorado. He has served in the
Rocky Mountain Conference since 1999.
- Eric Smith was ordained in
the Rocky Mountain Conference in 1987 and is currently serving as District
Superintendent of the Peaks and Plains District in the Rocky Mountain Conference.
Application Information
- The application form must be mailed to the registrar by April 15. All
registration forms must be received no later than May 1.
- A letter of approval from your District Superintendent and the Conference
Registrar for Local Pastors is required.
- Application does not guarantee acceptance. Acceptance notification
will be mailed soon after May 20.
- A limited number of non-certified UMC members will be accepted, provided
the approval of the District Superintendent is obtained.
- All students must attend the entire session.
- Tuition is $475.00
