Student Merit Award Deadline Announced

The Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry sponsors a Merit Award for students. The committee that will be selecting the Merit Award student from our conference needs application forms returned by mid-April. Application form here (RTF).

The award is for "merit" but it is understood that merit can be academic scholarship, church involvement, financial need, special preparation for vocations such as ministry or other service orientation - or a combination of these factors.

Nominees must be attending an institution of higher education recognized as United Methodist by the University Senate. It is not required that the institution be within the bounds of the Rocky Mountain Conference.

Special recognition will be given during the Rocky Mountain session of the Annual Conference in June - plus a $500.00 grant. This is an honor and some deserving student will be affirmed by this action.

The funds for this award comes from the offering taken during the observance of United Methodist Student Day. Our conference receives a 10 percent rebate from the total amount the Rocky Mountain churches give to this important ministry for our students.
